Newborn & Family Photography Privacy

newborn photography raheny

As a mother, I understand the importance of keeping children safe online. I will never share photos of your children on www.ciaramcconnell.com or any social media platform. Privacy, especially in relation to newborn photography and family photography is extremely important to me. Having spent 10 years working across the tech industry, internet moderation and data, I have a deep understanding of the impact of technology on privacy.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (Gen AI) are hot topics at the moment. Gen AI uses images sourced online on publicly available websites and social media to teach itself how to produce new images and videos. These images and videos can unfortunately be used to cause harm. I feel really strongly about taking beautiful photographs that are kept private for you and your family. I will never upload those photos to any publicly available website and this provides many families with peace of mind.

Sharing images of children online on newborn photography websites and on social media can be dangerous. And so, the photos of your kids today can unfortunately be used to train AI to produce harmful content of your kids in the future. The Irish Data Protection Commission has an excellent resource on why it’s so important to protect your child’s privacy online. You can read more about it at the data protection commission.

Any photographs you find on www.ciaramcconnell.com or my instagram will always be anonymous in their nature. Some photos of parents, with their permission, will be available. You can get a feeling for the style of documentary photography that I love from the photos I have shared.

If you’re ready to book a family photoshoot that prioritises the intimacy of special moments with your little ones, get in touch here or read this beautiful poem that represents the feeling I aim to capture at each of my shoots.
